I took part in the Prodige Art Piano Competition, held at the Steinway & Sons showroom in Paris. In the four months since moving to Paris, I practiced two pieces for the competition. I was nervous for the first piece, Chopin’s “Mazurka Op. 68 No. 2,” but I was able to play the second piece, Debussy’s “Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum,” well. The results were 19 out of 20 for the Chopin piece and 19.5 out of 20 for the Debussy piece, and I came in first place for both. I was really happy that all my practice paid off and I took first place in both.
